2024 CLASSES
washington ballet academy
JOIN US FOR OUR 2024 FALL/WINTER SESSION
At our ballet school, we believe in the transformative power of performance as a crucial element of dance education. Students from levels 1-4 will automatically have the opportunity to participate in our annual showcase, with rehearsals conveniently integrated into their regular class times. This allows all students to build their skills and confidence seamlessly as they prepare to share their progress with family and friends. For those interested in being cast in solo roles and small group pieces, auditions will be held, offering a chance for dedicated dancers to shine individually and enhance their skills. Dancers who are cast in these roles must commit to extra rehearsals on Saturdays to ensure they are fully prepared to present their best on stage. Our dedicated faculty is committed to providing a supportive and inspiring environment, helping all our dancers create lasting memories and experience the joy of performing.

class information

Each dancer is placed in the level where Caleb Leitch and the faculty believe they will benefit most from the WABA curriculum. Levels are determined solely by ability, not by age or years of training. Level placement considers many factors including, age, maturity, ability, attendance, safety, and overall studio cohesiveness. Once made by staff and faculty, level placement is not negotiable, but we are open to discussing questions and concerns. Please contact us if a meeting is necessary.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
-
All enrolled students Level 1 and up will have the chance to perform on stage with us. An attendance of 80% per month is mandatory for students to perform on stage. Any students ages eight and up (sometimes six depending on the show's needs) interested in additional featured or solo roles must audition to be considered. A rehearsal fee for soloists and featured rolls will be required to cover additional staff, rental, and rehearsal costs. Audition information will be presented at the top of each term. More information about featured and rehearsal fees will be presented in a rehearsal packet.
-
Tuition is non-refundable. Credits toward future enrollment can be issued provided notification in writing and must be made during the first three weeks of the program. Credit requests should be submitted via e-mail to admin@washingtonballetacademy.org.

We kindly ask that you wait outside until your designated arrival time as the doors will open 15 minutes prior to class.
When you enter, please check in at the front desk.
Only registered students taking a Drop-In Class may enter the building. No friends, family, or children of a student may enter the building and/or watch class from within the studio or hallway. All guests need to remain outside.
No video recording or photography is allowed during class. Photos may be taken with the instructor or friends after class.
Proper attire is required. Examples of proper attire can be read on the FAQ tab. Students who do not wear proper dance attire may be asked to leave.
Students’ safety is our top priority and those who arrive late risk getting injured due to lack of proper warm-up. Therefore, students who arrive more than 15 minutes late will not be allowed to take class.
If a student is a disturbance to class, they may be requested to leave at the sole discretion of the instructor or other MCBS staff. Refunds are not guaranteed.
No gum, food, or drink other than water is allowed inside the studio.
-
Adherence to the dress code allows dancers to focus on their studies and shows formal respect to the faculty, fellow students, and the long-held traditions of ballet. All students must adhere to every aspect of the dress code.
